Douglas County Health Center and Corrections Center

McCarthy was selected to provide HVAC and ventilation system upgrades at the Douglas County Health Center, Douglas County Correctional Center and Douglas County Criminal Justice Center. Improvements to the health center included installing several new air handling units, pumps and exhaust fans, a replacement steam boiler and chilling towers, as well as upgraded lighting, new isolation rooms and automatic faucets in patient rooms and nursing stations. Upgrades were also made to the HVAC systems at the correctional center.

Utilizing our extensive expertise in healthcare construction, McCarthy’s work allowed Douglas County to better manage the effects of the pandemic at county facilities. The expansive project included mechanical upgrades in two buildings, totaling nearly 400,000 sf of active facilities, requiring complex coordination efforts between McCarthy, Douglas County and trade partners.
